Two Thursday lunchtime shows in March, and two open positions at the American Jazz Museum
Jazz @ Noon is live in the Blue Room in March— two Thursday lunchtime performances at one of Kansas City’s most storied jazz venues. Free admission. Live music. Right in the heart of 18th & Vine.
Both shows are on Thursdays at noon. Come for the hour, leave with the music still in your head.
The Lineup
Thursday, March 5 Nneoma Lanea — 12 pm
Thursday, March 12 Heidi Lanita — 12 pm
Thursday, March 5 — Nneoma Lanea
Nneoma Lanea is one of Kansas City’s most compelling saxophonists — a musician who blends jazz, soul, and contemporary influences into something that’s entirely her own. Her performances are known for their emotional range: from searching, intimate solos to dynamic improvisations that pull a whole room into the music. She’s been building a devoted following across Kansas City, and the Blue Room’s noon hour is the perfect setting for a close encounter with her sound.

We’re Hiring at the American Jazz Museum
The American Jazz Museum is looking for two exceptional people to join our team. If you’ve ever wanted to work at the intersection of music, culture, history, and community — this is the place.
Education Programs Manager
The Education Programs Manager leads the development and delivery of educational programming for all ages — from Jazz Storytelling for young children to public programs for adult audiences. This role manages partnerships with schools, coordinates with the KC Jazz Academy, and brings the museum’s educational mission to life across the city. We’re looking for someone with a genuine passion for music and history who knows how to translate that passion into enriching, equitable learning experiences.
$40,000 – $50,000 | Based at 1616 E 18th St, Kansas City, MO
Director, Finance and Operations
The Director, Finance and Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for the museum’s financial health, fiscal integrity, and regulatory compliance. This includes overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, audit readiness, cash flow management, payroll coordination, and Board Finance Committee support. We’re looking for someone with deep nonprofit finance experience who wants to help steward an institution built on culture, community, and legacy.
$75,000 – $85,000 | Full-time | Based at 1616 E 18th St, Kansas City, MO
Both positions are based in Kansas City’s historic 18th & Vine district. If you know someone who’d be the right fit, please share — we’d love to build our next chapter with people who care about what we do.

Sure would be nice if they could hire more people to wait tables, especially on weekends.
